Teaching & Curating

My goal as an artist-teacher-researcher is to use art objects, contemporary art, art history, and art criticism to encourage critical thinking skills, collaboration, and the integration of the arts across disciplines. To do this, I believe developing artistic skills happens through experiences that incorporate different artistic vocabularies: such as through imagery, the somatic, or the spatial. Thus, I invite students to participate in diverse approaches to artmaking to help them discover authentic ways of expressing their own personal or collective voices.
